Bristol City are now looking to the next transfer window after their last ditch attempt to sign Nantes forward Yacine Bammou failed. Nantes were keen to sell the Morocco international throughout the last window, and he was also linked with a move to Leeds United and Aston Villa.

Speaking to the Bristol Post, chief operating officer Mark Ashton revealed the club are already looking to January, and their plans have been put into place. Bristol City had an offer turned down by Nantes on transfer deadline despite the Ligue 1 side’s attempts to offload the 24-year-old.

However, despite missing out on the forward Watson believes if they are prepared going into the next window then they can have success in the market.

“We’re already working on various things for the January window and putting in plans for the window beyond that. It’s a constantly evolving picture and you have to do your homework and put things in place early if you want to be successful,” said the Bristol City chief.

Leeds United and Aston Villa were two clubs showing an interest in Bammou this summer, with claims Nantes were prepared to listen to offers for the player. The forward was also linked with Turkish giants Besiktas.
