Galatasaray president Mustafa Cengiz has spoken to the Turkish press about their pursuit of Stoke City midfielder Badou Ndiaye during Emre Akbaba’s unveiling ceremony.
Cengiz was asked what’s the latest about Ndiaye as covered by Sporx: “Abdurrahim Albayrak, our vice president, is working hard to get him. We have to work, we don’t have time to celebrate. This is a very interesting business, there’s nothing done yet but hopefully, he’ll also arrive at the club soon.”
Cengiz continued: “Let’s see what happens. I don’t want to say anything and need to act carefully. But hopefully, he’ll join Galatasaray.”
Ndiaye is hoping to leave Stoke City following their relegation to the Championship last season and his agent confirmed weeks ago he was hoping to get his client a move.
Galatasaray remains the only club who’s interested in signing the Senegal international after a move to a Premier League club never materialised. Wolves had been linked with the player during the English transfer window.
The midfielder only joined Stoke City from Galatasaray in the last winter transfer window for €16m, but couldn’t prevent their drop to the second tier.
