Over the past couple of days, reports coming out of Spain have reported Leganes are interested in signing Marc Navarro from Watford.
The La Liga side are without a recognised right-back in the squad and want to sign the Hornets defender on a loan deal with a purchase option.
Mundo Deportivo reported on Friday that Mauricio Pellegrino’s side may have to wait until next week to complete the former Espanyol man’s transfer.
Leganes have already signed Juan Soriano and Alex Martín, and during the presentation of the two new players, their sporting director Txema Indias confirmed his side’s interest in Javi Gracia’s player.
“For the right-back, it may be clear is that there is Marc. He is a player that we know for years, from Espanyol. He was at a good level in the Spanish league,” Indias was quoted as saying by Mundo Deportivo.
“We need two right-backs and you know since last year that Marc is one of those situations that we like, but like him there are others…”
Indias didn’t want to given an indication the deal is close: “To venture and say who can come or not seems a bit risky.”
Navarro’s playing time was restricted during the 2018/19 season as he made only one start in the league and five appearances in all competitions. A move to Leganes will greatly improve his chances of playing regular football.
