Two days ago, Estadio Deportivo reported Alvaro Morata’s agent Juanma Lopez has arrived at Sevilla to negotiate for the Chelsea striker’s transfer in the winter market.
The Seville newspaper claimed the La Liga outfit have an agreement with the playern and only a deal needs to be struck with the west London club for the deal to take shape.
Los Rojiblancos sporting director Joaquin Caparrós has now admitted his side’s interest in signing the player.
“It is true. [We are] interested in this player [Morata],” the Sevilla chief was quoted as saying by Estadio Deportivo.
However, Caparrós has stressed the idea of signing Morata is not straightforward because dealing with the Premier League side is not an easy task.
“…It is a very, very complicated operation, the player may want to come, but it is very complicated because Chelsea is a club with which it is very difficult to negotiate,” he added.
Chelsea suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur in the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-final clash at Wembley and Maurizio Sarri left the 26-year-old out of the squad to face Spurs on Tuesday.
