Borussia Dortmund have been in contact with Manchester United over a loan deal for Anthony Elanga, who would ‘very much like’ to make the move.

That’s according to Ruhr Nachrichten, who say the Swedish forward is keen on a switch and Dortmund have ‘checked out the conditions’ for a possible move.

They explain that Elanga is still waiting for his big breakthrough after breaking through at Manchester United last season but finds himself down the pecking order under Erik ten Hag this season.

He does not have the ‘top level’ that is required to make an impact as yet and the competition in Manchester United’s forward line is ‘huge’.

Thus, the idea of going out on loan to gain experience and playing time has been put forward and Dortmund could use their ‘very good reputation’ to get him.

They have a history of developing talent down the years, establishing themselves as one of the best places for highly talented players to develop their game and establish themselves in Europe. Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho is a perfect example of that.

The top talents from England have also started to see the Bundesliga as a perfect place to establish themselves and that could be the case with Elanga as well.

According to Ruhr Nachrichten’s information, Dortmund ‘checked out the conditions’ for a loan deal with Manchester United and Elanga.

They believe the youngster would be a valuable addition and help to ‘put pressure’ on their current forward line, with the likes of Donyell Malen and Karim Adeyemi yet to hit the mark.

Whether a loan can be achieved ‘depends on various factors’ and not all of them are in the German side’s hands at this moment in time.

According to reports, though, Elanga would ‘very much like’ to move on from Old Trafford, even on a temporary basis, and that could work in Dortmund’s favour as they look to do a deal or convince United to do one at least.
