A month ago, Sky Germany reported Chelsea ‘show interest’ in signing Bayern Munich’s Niklas Süle.

With a contract expiring in 2022, there’s still no clarity regarding the defender’s plans for the future.

On Wednesday, SportBild reported the Bavarian club’s planning for the summer ‘depends very much’ on the 25-year-old and Kingsley Coman.

It was stated the Bundesliga side could ‘very well imagine separating’ with the Germany international in the summer, if the deal is right for them.

Claims made by SportBild are relayed by Abendzeitung, and the Munich based newspaper provide additional information on the Blues’ effort to sign the centre-back.

It’s claimed the west London club are showing ‘great interest’ because Thomas Tuchel is ‘still very interested’ in signing his compatriot.

The former Hoffenheim man has been included in Joachim Löw’s squad for Euro 2020. AZ explain the player would like to concentrate on the upcoming continental tournament, while Bayern want to set a deadline for extending Süle’s contract.

“That is quite conceivable. You have to see what package we (…) can offer a player. FC Bayern has an excellent squad that can win all titles. And this wonderful city! What more do you want as a player?” said Bayern chief Oliver Kahn.

As per the report, Süle could still move away from Bayern and this would come as encouragement for Chelsea.
