It’s now been three and a half years since Allan left Liverpool on a permanent deal, but the Reds are still being contacted about him.
The reason is that his club Atlético Mineiro are currently in advanced talks to sign him from Flamengo. Those were long negotiations, with the club fighting for every penny.
It turns out the deal is currently blocked because they are discussing who will pay Liverpool’s solidarity mechanism percentage, and according to Venê Casagrande, they called the Anfield side to talk about that.
Since the Reds had Allan in their academy, they have the right to a percentage of the transfer, leading Atletico Mineiro to make contact to know if they would be willing to accept giving up on it to help speed up the transfer.
Casagrande says Liverpool’s answer was negative, so this soap opera should last a little longer while the Brazilian clubs discuss who’ll pay that percentage.
The report claims the player is bothered by this situation, as he just waits for the full agreement to fly to Rio de Janeiro and finally sign for Flamengo. The Reds could’ve helped a little, but chose not to.
