Since the start of 2017/18 season, Victor Wanyama has made only 12 starts in the Premier League and injuries have also not helped his cause of featuring regularly.
Over in Belgium, Club Brugge are in the market looking for a defensive midfielder after losing Marvelous Nakamba to Aston Villa.
Voetbalprimeur have relayed comments made by former Belgian striker Gilles De Bilde to VTM and he suggests the Tottenham Hotspur player can be Nakamba’s replacement at the Jupiler Pro League side.
De Bilde believes Brugge can attract the Kenya international, who has two years left on his Spurs contract.
Wanyama earns €3.6m per year with the Champions League runners-up and his salary could be on the higher side for Brugge.
Brugge have also identified Stoke City’s Gianelli Imbula and Leicester City’s Daniel Amartey as midfield targets, but De Bilde prefers Wanyama over the former two for Brugge.
It’s to be noted the report does not suggest the Jupiler Pro League side are chasing Wanyama, but only focuses on De Bilde’s opinion that Tottenham player would be well suited for the Belgian side.
