With a change of manager and directors at Paris Saint-Germain, a few claims emerged that Neymar could be on the move.

Chelsea were reportedly interested at one point, but it’s Manchester City who have been offered the forward, according to Le Parisien.

It’s said the Ligue 1 club ‘approached’ Pep Guardiola’s side ‘these past few weeks’ in order to ‘offer the transfer of Neymar as part of a swap’.

Although the name hasn’t filtered, the suggestion put forward by the newspaper is that it could be Bernardo Silva.

This was reportedly ‘refused’ by Manchester City, who clearly didn’t feel the need to add the Brazilian to a squad already overflowing with attacking talent.

Described as an ‘operation worthy of the moves made in the NBA’, the attempt didn’t take long to be turned down, as the Premier League champions ‘quickly replied’ with a refusal.

The recent signing of Erling Haaland was one needed, since they didn’t have an out and out striker following the departure of Sergio Agüero, but Neymar is a different player altogether.

Guardiola is said to not want ‘to unbalance the construction of his squad with the arrival of such a star’.
