Arsenal youngster Marcelo Flores could end his loan spell at Real Oviedo early and return to Mexico with Club León instead.
That’s according to Soy Fiera and journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, who say the 19-year-old is a possible reinforcement for Nicolás Larcamón’s project at the Mexican side.
They explain that Flores is currently on loan with Oviedo in Spain, moving from Arsenal in the summer in search of regular first team football.
They are owned by Grupo Pachuca, who also happen to own Club León, and could now do a deal between those two sides and Arsenal.
Their intention had been to ‘give Flores a name’ in Spain but the Mexican has barely featured this season, managing just 22% of the available minutes so far.
He is now looking for a club that can give him more playing time next year and Club León have ‘already received the proposal’ for him to arrive according to Fiera. They are now ‘analysing the situation’.
A deal would have to be worked out with Arsenal, of course, but it seems unlikely they’d be resistant to Flores heading to a new club that can guarantee him more minutes than what’s been on offer in Oviedo.
It’s a situation to keep an eye on either way, with Grupo Pachuca seemingly at work to move Flores from one of their clubs to another.
