Last week, Lazio travelled to England for a friendly against Southampton at St Mary’s and there was a brawl involving multiple players during the game.
The Italian media suggested Carlos Alcaraz was the ‘protagonist’ of the fight, but this hasn’t stopped the Serie A side from considering a move for him this summer.
At the weekend, Corriere dello Sport said Lazio could look to sign the Southampton player on a loan deal, with an option to buy.
The Italian club are in the market for a midfielder and Calciomercato back up their desire to sign the 21-year-old.
Alcaraz spent the second half of last season on loan at Juventus and has already returned to the English club. The report claims the Saints have made him available in the market, and Lazio and especially Flamengo are keen on securing his services in this window.
The Biancocelesti are making an ‘in-depth reflection’ of the possibility of bringing the midfielder back to Italy.
Flamengo, for their part, have ‘already presented a proposal’ of €18m plus bonuses to Russell Martin’s side. Calciomercato make no mention of Southampton’s response to this bid, and they will have to make a decision on Alcaraz’s future.
