Gianluca Scamacca has struggled at West Ham United since he joined them from Sassuolo last summer.
The striker managed 16 league goals for the Serie A side last season but has failed to replicate the same form for the Hammers, managing only three league goals. He hasn’t featured for West Ham since January and has been sidelined with a knee injury since April.
Monday’s Gazzetta dello Sport states West Ham have now opened up to sanctioning a loan move for the 24-year-old in the next window.
This has alerted AC Milan, who have ‘already come forward to seize an opportunity’ to sign the Italy international. The Rossoneri have to define the details of the operation but the ‘conditions are all there’ to potentially close the deal in the summer.
Prior to making an approach for the West Ham frontman, Milan want to make sure that he’s fully recovered from his injury.
This is understandable, considering Milan’s Divock Origi was slow to recover from an injury he picked up at Liverpool last season.
Juventus are also in the mix for Scamacca but Gazzetta say Milan ‘have an advantage that shouldn’t be overlooked’.
West Ham are said to be ‘gearing up’ to agree a deal as they don’t want the player’s value to drop too much.
