Leicester City’s Nampalys Mendy has emerged as a target for Galatasaray on deadline day of the summer transfer window in Turkey.

Earlier on Wednesday, the midfielder’s agent said Faith Terim’s side have agreed a loan deal with both the Foxes and the 29-year-old.

However, the Senegal international’s representative stressed his client is facing a ‘race against time’ to complete the transfer.

Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna took to Twitter to provide a fresh update on the former Nice man’s chances of ending up at the Süper Lig side.

According to Aouna, Galatasaray want to sign two midfielders before the Turkish summer window closes later today.

He says Famalicão’s Gustavo Assunção and Brendan Rodgers’ man are the two targets, and the Brazilian is scheduled to arrive in Istanbul for medical examinations.

Regarding Mendy, Aouna claims both the ‘club [most likely Galatasaray] and his agents’, are ‘trying to find a jet’ for the Leicester player so that he can make a trip before the window closes in Turkey on Wednesday.

Time is running out for Mendy to complete a loan move to Galatasaray.
