Spanish side Real Betis are ‘advancing decisively’ for Leeds United midfielder Marc Roca, who they want as a replacement for William Carvalho.
That’s according to ABC Sevilla, who say Betis have taken ‘important steps’ to sign the Spaniard from Elland Road this summer.
The newspaper explains that Betis are looking to move Carvalho on as soon as possible, having determined that now is the time for him to end his time at the club.
He has an offer from Saudi Arabia and would be open to the switch, a transfer that would benefit both him and Betis financially.
A departure would allow the Spanish side to significantly reduce the tension in their finances, particularly when it comes to compliance with La Liga’s salary cap.
It would, though, leave them needing to fill a hole in Manuel Pellegrini’s side and they have already launched the search for that player.
Leeds United midfielder Marc Roca is one of the men they are looking at and they are already ‘advancing decisively’ in an attempt to secure his signature.
The newspaper reports that ‘important steps have been taken’ in the last few hours to get a deal over the line, with the player’s agents already in Seville to define an agreement between the two parties. We covered a separate report on that matter yesterday.
Now the focus is on closing a deal with Leeds, whose instability due to a change of ownership and lack of a sporting management has made the process ‘more difficult than expected’.
