According to a claim in the Turkish media, Trabzonspor are again close to getting a deal over the line for Southampton forward Paul Onuachu.
The 31-year-old is expected to leave St Mary’s this summer following Southampton’s relegation to the Championship, and again he’s been linked with a move to his former club.
Sabah report on Trabzonspor’s pursuit for the Nigeria international and state the Super Lig club are ‘close to shaking hands’ with the Saints.
It’s claimed the Black Sea club have offered €6m for Onuachu as they look to finally agree on a transfer fee with Southampton. As long as there’s no setbacks it’s reported a deal should be completed in the coming days, with negotiations in the final stages.
Onuachu spent the 2023/24 season on loan with Trabzonspor and has been linked with a return to the club endlessly over the past 12 months.
During his time in Turkey, he scored an impressive 17 goals in 25 gamers and has been keen to return to the Super Lig.
The forward made 27 appearances for Southampton last season, scoring four goals. He’s contracted to the Saints until June 2026.
