Liverpool goalkeeper Fabian Mrozek is set to join IF Brommapojkarna this summer.
That’s according to FotbollDirekt, who claim the 20-year-old’s move to Sweden is ‘close to completion’.
The stopper joined Liverpool from Polish side FC Wrocław Academy in 2019, and hasn’t made an appearance for the Reds’ first team so far.
Last month, there were claims that Vitória de Guimarães tried to sign the Pole on a loan deal. That was rejected by Liverpool, perhaps because the Portuguese club wanted a buying option.
BP are now set to sign Mrozek on a loan deal, with an option to extend the loan stay for one more season. They are working on this rapid deal and the report says the Swedish club only have to sort out the last details to get the signing over the line.
Mrozek has been training under Arne Slot during pre-season. Alisson Becker has been the first-choice stopper at Liverpool since 2018. Caoimhín Kelleher provided cover to the Brazilian last season, and is likely to have the same role next season.
This would make it difficult for Mrozek to find a way into Slot’s plans at Anfield. A loan move to BP could help the Pole feature regularly, which is what he needs at this stage of his career.
