Leeds United’s Maximilian Wöber was on loan at Borussia Mönchengladbach last season.
On June 19th, the centre-back admitted he hasn’t heard from either the German club or the Whites over a permanent transfer this summer.
The Leeds player was part of the Austria squad who were eliminated by Turkey in the Euros earlier this week.
Wöber will have to sort out his future as he will leave Elland Road in this window. That’s according to Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg, who took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide the latest on this case.
The Bundesliga side are willing to extend his stay and Leeds are ready to let the 26-year-old leave.
With a contract lasting until 2027, the journalist claims Daniel Farke’s side are demanding €10-12m, and this is ‘too much’ for Gladbach, who are looking to sign him on a new loan deal. The player has been informed about the situation.
Plettenberg states the ‘clear trend’ is that the Leeds man ‘will leave’ the Championship side, and it now remains to be seen if he will end up at Gladbach or join a new club.
