Tottenham Hotspur target Sebastian Szymański won’t leave Fenerbahçe in the winter market, according to Meczyki.pl.
Earlier this week, Star Gazetesi reported the north London club will do everything they can to sign the 24-year-old as their manager Ange Postecoglou is ‘very keen’ on having him at his disposal. It was also stated Spurs are looking to sign him in the summer.
On Friday, Przegląd Sportowy discussed Tottenham’s interest in the attacking midfielder and former Poland international Radosław Kałużny backed him to excel under the former Celtic manager at Tottenham, if he were to join them.
Claims have stated the Premier League side are looking at the Poland international after this season. He joined the Istanbul club last summer, signing a deal until 2027, and has excelled in his debut season in Turkey.
Szymański has scored 12 goals and registered 14 assists from 34 games and has played a key role in helping the Yellow Canaries sit top of the table.
With Tottenham said to be an interested party, Meczyki.pl journalist Tomasz Włodarczyk has provided an update on when the player will hold talks over his future.
“All interested parties are convinced that nothing will happen in the case of Sebastian Szymański in the winter. Not only that, I hear that there will be talks about Szymański’s future at the turn of February and March, and only then can we know more,” he said.
The journalist also doesn’t rule out the Pole signing a new deal with the Turkish club.
“Fenerbahçe dream of regaining the Turkish championship after 10 years. They are virtually assured of qualifying for the group stage of the Champions League, so the Turks are not a bad place to work,” Włodarczyk explained.
“Szymański may receive a quick raise and stay for another season, although of course everything will be determined by a potential offer.”
