Brought to Lazio by Jorge Mendes, Pedro Neto (a 19-year-old winger) and Bruno Jordao (a 20-year-old central midfielder) will now be shipped away from Rome to Wolverhampton Wanderers by the super agent.
That’s what Corriere dello Sport’s Rome edition are reporting on Friday, claiming that ‘from England’, they are ‘sure’ the deal is in its ‘closing stages’ and ‘could be made official this weekend’.
According to said sources, Lazio will make €20m from the double deal after the pair spent two years on loan from Braga before being automatically purchased towards the end.
Deals with Benfica and Monaco never materialised, and it’s Wolves who will benefit, with the duo ‘waiting’ for the transfer to be complete.
This money will allow the Italians to reinvest the funds elsewhere, seeing as Manchester United appear to be edging away from a deal for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic with Paul Pogba looking extremely likely to stay.
We’ll have to wait and see, but this wouldn’t be the most surprising deal in the world, seeing as it involves Mendes and two young Portuguese players.
