West Ham United have ‘tested the waters’ around Mauricio Pochettino as a potential replacement for David Moyes.
That’s according to Jeunes Footeux, who say the Hammers could be eyeing a change after their ‘disastrous’ start to the seson.
They spent €185m in the transfer window but are currently 18th in the table after five defeats in seven games.
The situation is becoming ‘increasingly untenable’ for Moyes, who could be sacked if they fail to perform against Wolves on Saturday.
His team’s performances on the pitch are being rightly questioned but there is also a feeling that West Ham are falling behind the times, something Pochettino could help rectify.
He would ‘demand guarantees’ for the winter transfer window to take the job at the London Stadium and it is at that level where there could be issues.
Given their summer spend the Hammers may not be able to spend big in January, which would put them in conflict with Pochettino, who recently won Ligue 1 with Paris Saint-Germain.
Initial contacts have supposedly been made, though, so Pochettino may be a name to keep an eye on if Moyes is sacked in the near future.
