West Ham United are eyeing a big move for Inter Milan’s Hakan Calhanoglu if Lucas Paqueta were to leave the London Stadium this summer.
That’s according to Spazio Inter, who say the Turkish playmaker is at the top of the list if the Brazilian is to leave this summer.
They explain that whole Calhanoglu is at the centre of Inter’s plans and they have no intention to sell in the coming weeks, the decision may be taken out of their hands by West Ham.
They’re planning a ‘€50m madness’ for the player and have ‘seriously targeted’ him as they look to establish themselves following their success in the Europa Conference League last season.
The belief is that they could be set to lose Paqueta at some point in the near future and they would target Calhanoglu to replace him.
Indeed, it is possible that an attempt to sign him from Inter will be made, although it would be met with a resounding no from the Champions League finalists for now.
They don’t want to listen to offers for the Turkish international, who is considered non-transferable at this moment in time.
There is, though, a ‘price to everything’ and in the face of an ‘indispensable offer’ they would have to let him leave. Their price on that front is €50m.
That’s the figure which would make them sway as it would represent a huge price for a 30-year-old.
It’s now up to West Ham to decide what to do and make their bid, if their interest is as serious as is claimed.
