Manchester United made three key summer additions to their squad by completing deals for Jadon Sancho, Raphaël Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 36-year-old forward has signed a two-year deal with an option to further extend it by a year.

Despite the Portugal international’s arrival, Bild are saying the Red Devils are in the mix to sign Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland.

It’s said United are among three sides, with Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, who can ‘afford’ the 21-year-old next summer.

The Norwegian’s asking price will be €75m plus bonuses in 2022. SportBild reported last week Mino Raiola demanded an annual salary of €50m from Chelsea and €40m in agent commission. This means the deal would cost around €300m for a five-year contract, likely without the transfer fee.

These claims are relayed again by Bild and taking these figures into account, they say Manchester United, City and PSG are the three clubs who can manage to complete the deal without ‘major financial problems’.

Paul Pogba’s contract at Old Trafford expires in 2022 and the report adds his exit would ‘free up money’ for the Haaland deal.

The striker played under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde and the manager is close to his compatriot’s family. Bild are of the belief the Solskjaer factor could be a ‘plus point for United’ to sign Haaland in 2022.
