West Ham United are one of the clubs showing interest in Spezia star Jakub Kiwior.
That’s according to La Nazione, who say the Hammers are joined by Napoli, AC Milan, AS Roma and Juventus in the chase to sign the centre-back.
The Poland international’s ‘excellent’ displays at the 2022 World Cup have highlighted his remarkable technical abilities. This has led the defender’s market value to further increase and it is now in excess of €20m.
With West Ham and other Italian clubs in the picture to secure the 22-year-old’s services, the report states an auction could be held for Kiwior next summer.
Over at Città della Spezia, they state a fee of €15m will not be enough to take the player away from Spezia because his valuation has risen to €20m.
They add that at the moment, the Pole’s future is likely to be in the Premier League. This would please David Moyes’ side.
The Italian club’s chief, Eduardo Macia, previously worked at Liverpool and Leicester City.
Spezia want to take advantage of this and ‘plan to open a channel’ in England to sell the defender. This, however, is for next summer as they have no intention of parting ways with Kiwior in January.
Although Città della Spezia state Kiwior’s future is likely to be in the Premier League, they don’t mention West Ham or any other English club in their report.
