Following the news from Italy that Juventus were ready to let Federico Chiesa leave for the right price and the player being open to a move, Aston Villa were thrown into the race.
They joined other Premier League clubs, and there was even talk that moves had been made from new director of football Monchi to try and get a deal over the line.
However, if Corriere della Sera on Monday are to be believed, that hasn’t been successful, with Chiesa seemingly aiming higher than Aston Villa.
The newspaper give their latest information on a variety of players, and explain that Juventus are currently ‘waiting for offers’ to arrive from England.
That being said, should one come from Aston Villa, it will not be entertained by Chiesa, as the player ‘would have already rejected’ a move to Villa Park.
The hope for the Italians is that someone like the ‘greedy’ Newcastle or Liverpool come forward to change his mind.
As for why Chiesa turned down Aston Villa, that isn’t said, but it wouldn’t be too hard to speculate that if he wanted to play in the Conference League next year, he would just stay where he is.
