There are claims coming out of Turkey that Galatasaray are looking to sign Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah this summer.
There has been recent speculation regarding Salah’s Liverpool future following the departure of Jurgen Klopp, with repeated claims clubs in Saudi Arabia are interested.
Milli Gazete have reported on comments Turkish journalist Zeki Uzundurukan made to Transfer Plus when discussing Galatasaray’s summer transfer targets. He claims the Turkish champions could look to take advantage of his situation at Liverpool and talks have taken place with the player.
“Mohamed Salah’s contract expires in one year. Liverpool could offload Salah this summer. It’s not unlikely that he’ll leave. Kerem Aktürkoğlu is leaving, the sale of Barış Alper Yılmaz at a good price is on the agenda. Mohamed Salah could come to Galatasaray. I know they’re meeting. There has been a change of coach at Liverpool, and that will affect him,” said Uzundurukan.
Gala have been linked with a number of players in recent weeks as they look to bring reinforcements ahead of their Champions League campaign next season. The Istanbul side secured the Super Lig title on the last day of the season and will automatically go into the group stages of the competition.
However, these claims seem far fetched and Salah moving to Turkey looks unlikely. His wage demands are likely to be an issue for Galatasaray, as will the transfer fee Liverpool would be looking for.
Salah is contracted to the Premier League side until June 2025.
