There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Leeds United have made their move for Norwich City midfielder Gabriel Sara.
The Brazilian has been linked with a number of clubs in the past week and Leeds United can expect to face competition from Galatasaray.
Football commentator Mustafa Özgür Sancar has spoken to Habersar Ikirmizi with regards to Galatasaray’s pursuit of the Norwich City player and he claims Leeds United, in the past few days, have offered their Championship rivals €6m to sign Sara this summer.
He went on to say the Turkish champions have reacted to Leeds United’s offer and will make their own move.
“Although there is talk of €16.5m for this player, Leeds United offered €6m to Norwich City 3-4 days ago. Galatasaray officials are acting accordingly. He’s a good player. Brazilian players are succeeding in Turkey,” said Özgür Sancar.
Yesterday we covered reports from Turkey that Galatasaray have also put in an offer for Sara as they look to bring in a central midfielder in this window. Gala have been linked with a number of midfielders playing in England.
As we’ve previously reported Leeds United, along with Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Atalanta are all said to be interested in signing Sara.
He made 50 appearances for Norwich City last season, scoring 14 goals.
