As far as we can remember, West Ham United have never been linked with Matías Soulé, at least in Italy, until Thursday February 8th.
The Argentine winger is having the time of his life at Frosinone on loan from Juventus, and that has attracted interest from Premier League.
Other clubs, like Crystal Palace have been named as very keen on Soulé, but never West Ham, who are mentioned by Corriere dello Sport on Thursday.
The newspaper explain that Juventus have a ‘treasure’ stashed away at Frosinone these days in the form of Soulé, who turned down the chance to go to Al-Ittihad in January.
They hint that he also rejected advances from both West Ham and their aforementioned London neighbours during the last transfer window, which is something new in itself.
Either way, it’s said that he will ‘choose calmly’ his next destination in June, as it’s already been decided that he will move on, with Juventus already finding his heir in Francisco Martin Barido.
We have a feeling, unless something major slipped under the radar, that Corriere may have got themselves a bit confused following West Ham’s attempt to sign Valentín Carboni, also an Argentine, from Inter, but we had to do our duty and tell you what is being reported in Italy.
