According to a claim in the Turkish media, Fenerbahçe are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old could look to move on this summer after struggling to hold down a regular place in Tottenham’s starting eleven last season.
Milligazete today report on the latest developments regarding the future of Höjbjerg and they say he could be reunited with his former Spurs boss Jose Mourinho.
It’s claimed Fenerbahçe sporting director Mario Branco has held talks with the Denmark international and an outline agreement is in place with the player.
It’s now expected the Turkish side will ‘sit at the table’ with Tottenham soon, but with the midfielder representing his country in this summer’s Euros any possible deal is likely to be done next month. Fener are also in the middle of presidential elections so this will also delay things.
Höjbjerg made 36 Premier League appearances last season, but only started 8 games. He’s contracted to the Premier League side until June 2025 and subsequently they could look to cash in on him this summer.
