Tottenham Hotspur used the January transfer window to have some shopping in Italy, where they went to Fabio Paratici’s former club Juventus to make the signings of Rodrigo Betancur and Dejan Kulusevski.
Now it turns out that Spurs could’ve ended up signing another player from a Serie A giant, as according to Calciomercato.it, Inter Milan’s Marcelo Brozovic was a target as well.
The information is brought by journalist Fabrizio Biasin, who on CMIT TV, said that Antonio Conte wanted to bring the Crotian player to Tottenham this month.
“Do you know who tried for Brozovic? Barcelona some time ago and also his former manager who is now in London, would have liked him. The Blaugrana would have also offered 8 million per season,” Biasin told CMIT TV.
Brozovic has been linked to several Premier League sides in the past year, with Tottenham Hotspur included in the competition. It was said a few times that they were in the mix to sign him on a free, with Antonio Conte wanting to work with the player again.
However, the player is now expected to renew with the Serie A side, meaning all this is likely to come to an end fairly soon.
