Fenerbahçe have included Aston Villa’s Leander Dendoncker in their target list, according to today’s Sabah.
The Istanbul club are trying to bring in a new midfielder before the Turkish window closes on September 15th, and their priority is to sign SC Braga’s Al-Musrati.
The Yellow Canaries are negotiating with the Libyan’s agent and if a deal for him cannot materialse, they will shift their focus to the Aston Villa player.
It’s claimed Fenerbahçe have identified the 28-year-old and Brentford’s Frank Onyeka as plan B and plan C respectively.
The Turkish club see Al-Musrati as a market opportunity but if they cannot convince him to join them, the newspaper states they ‘will force’ Aston Villa to accept their own terms to take the Belgium international.
Sabah make no mention of Fenerbahçe’s terms to sign Dendoncker, who can operate in the middle of the pitch and also as a centre-back.
The former Wolves man has made one appearance this season and it came in the Europa Conference League qualifiers victory over Hibernian FC.
After being overlooked by Unai Emery, a move away from Aston Villa could be a good option for Dendoncker.
