Wanting to sign with Inter Milan above all this summer, Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku decided to try and force a permanent stay to the club where he was on loan last season.
However, he also committed the mistake of having a chat with Juventus as a potential alternative in case the Nerazzurri were unable to reach an agreement with the Blues.
That filtered to the media, which Inter quickly found out about, and they weren’t best happy, having now made it clear the Chelsea player is no longer part of their plans, as reported by Calciomercato.it.
Despite Juventus having now set up a ‘€40m agreement’ with the Stamford Bridge side, which would see the striker earn €8m a year for the next four years, they need to sell Dusan Vlahovic first, which isn’t a guarantee.
While there is hope someone will come forward, they also have to wait for the time being, but there is one certainty, according to Calciomercato.it.
It’s said Lukaku is trying to ‘reestablish ties’with Inter once again, but ‘without having the desired effect’.
In fact, the Serie A side have told the Chelsea player he is now ‘in the past’ and ‘definitively out of the plans’ at San Siro.
That’s why they are focusing on other players, such as Alvaro Morata, leaving Lukaku once again in limbo.
