Just last week, the Portuguese media were reminding everyone that Chelsea, who could be on the lookout for a left-back this summer, were interested in Alex Telles.

Jornal de Notícias were the ones with the claims, explaining the Blues were one of two clubs alongside Paris Saint-Germain to position themselves for the Brazilian.

Porto, down their end, were reportedly only wanting €30m (€10m less than his €40m release clause) for their star player, which made him a relatively affordable target for the Premier League team.

Well, fast forward to Wednesday and Le10 Sport are corroborating all this with an exclusive on their website.

Aware of Chelsea’s interest, Porto have supposedly let Frank Lampard’s side know they will require a €30m to let Telles go, and have done the same with the Ligue 1 champions.

However, it’s made clear it the ball remains in Porto’s court, and, as things stand, no agreement has been found.

It would be unlikely to see Chelsea make a move before the departure of either Marcos Alonso or Emerson Palmieri is sorted, and we all know the pair have a number of suitors in Serie A…

But if one of them does exit Stamford Bridge, it’s pretty obvious who the Blues will turn to.
