It appears that Chelsea will be without N’Golo Kanté next season, as the French midfielder is heading to Saudi Arabia.
The news comes from AFP in France, relayed by L’Equipe, who run an article on Wednesday afternoon about the news.
They state that a source within Al-Ittihad has claimed the Chelsea midfielder ‘has signed’ his contract with the PIF-owned club, where he will team up with Karim Benzema.
The 32-year-old is said to have put pen to paper to a three-year deal after a season at Stamford Bridge plagued with injuries.
Kanté missed the entire World Cup due to his fitness issues, and will seemingly be leaving after seven years at Chelsea where he arrived from Leicester City.
L’Equipe point out that those in the Blues star’s entourage were denying any agreement being reached on Tuesday, with them refusing to discard the idea of an extended stay in London, but AFP appear to have been told otherwise.
During his time with Chelsea, Kanté made 269 appearances in all competitions, scoring 13 goals and providing his teammates with 16 assists.
