As Chelsea prepare themselves to face Juventus on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League, the two sides are also in a fight off the pitch.

That’s the tussle for Aurélien Tchouaméni, who has become a very wanted man this season following great performances at AS Monaco and earning the recognition of Didier Deschamps in the France national team.

The young midfielder is now the centre of attention for a few clubs, namely Chelsea and Juventus, with Tuttosport claiming the Blues are in the lead.

According to the Italian newspaper, the Premier League side appear ‘to have taken an almost unbridgeable advantage over Juventus’.

In fact, they believe the Tchouaméni ‘will almost certainly end up in the Premier League’, with part of that being because ‘Chelsea in recent weeks have fired an offer of €60m for the transfer and a salary in proportion for the player’.

That being said, they aren’t the only club after him, as Newcastle, Liverpool and the ‘Italian’ Tottenham of Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte ‘should not be underestimated’ in this race.

Chelsea, though, are creating a large gap between themselves and the competition, it seems.
