Arsenal are keen to sign Fiorentina star Dušan Vlahović in the winter market, as is now well established.

On Tuesday, La Nazione, a newspaper local to La Viola, reported the Gunners are ‘ready to formalise’ an offer ‘within 48 hours’. There have also been claims in England about the English club wanting to make a €70m bid for the striker.

Another report from the same newspaper now states the need to discuss the 21-year-old’s situation ‘could become topical as soon as’ the north London club knock on the club’s door with the ‘first [real] proposal’.

La Nazione state it would be a ‘concrete offer’ as Mikel Arteta’s side have a ‘mad desire’ to put on the Serie A side’s plate an offer of €70m. If that happens, the talks ‘could take an unexpected turn’ for ‘several reasons’.

The first step will be to find out the reaction of Rocco Commisso and others at Fiorentina. The second is to know the will of the player and whether Arsenal are ‘to his liking’ or if he has other ambitions.

The third step is how the Italian club will replace the goalscoring frontman. Fiorentina will ‘not be caught unprepared’ and have already identified the ‘right profile’ to replace Vlahović.

La Nazione add there is already a ‘Mr X’, who certainly matches the liking of all the club’s leaders and their manager, Vincenzo Italiano.

For now, the report states ‘pay particular attention’ to Arsenal, who will ‘soon knock’ on La Viola’s door, likely with an offer, and ‘ignite the Vlahović affair’.
