A couple of days ago, the agent of Mexican international Jesus Corona confirmed an approach from Chelsea to sign the player.
Speaking to Medio Tiempo, Matias Bunge said he’s had contacts with the Blues ‘at some point’, but would have to wait for the end of the Coronavirus crisis for further talks.
His quotes had a big impact in the Mexican and Portuguese media, where there have been many reports about the player’s possible departure from Porto this summer.
But a piece from Record’s Francoatirador comes to cool down all these stories, saying the agent has actually been making rumours up.
It’s said Corona isn’t happy with his representative, and has been thinking of getting a new agent soon.
That has convinced Bunge to speak to his ‘friends’ in the international media so he could produce rumours about clubs, including Chelsea, who want the midfielder, therefore showing Corona he’s been doing a good job.
It’s quite a big claim and it’s hard to say whether it’s correct or not, so we’ll simply have to wait and see what happens to Corona in the coming months.
