Chelsea are considering signing Fulham’s Andreas Pereira this summer.
That’s according to Globo Esporte, who state the Blues have contacted the midfielder’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, to find out the conditions needed to take his client away from Fulham.
Globo claim Joorabchian ‘confirmed Chelsea’s interest’, without sharing any quotes from the agent.
The report says Chelsea are waiting for developments in other cases before making an approach for Pereira.
Conor Gallagher’s deal lasts until 2025. The west London club’s intention is to sell him for £50m and invest part of the fee to bring in his replacement. That is, of course, an ambitious aim.
It’s claimed Maresca has already given his approval to go ahead with this deal, and that Chelsea are willing to pay between £30m and £35m for the Brazil international.
The former Manchester United man has two years left on his contract, with an option for another year. The report states he has an agreement with Marco Silva’s side to change clubs in this window.
AS Monaco have also made contact and they can offer Champions League football. Pereira favours Chelsea, who have qualified for the UEFA Conference League, as it can allow him to continue in London.
Last month, Pereira stated he would hold talks with his agent to decide his future. The player had also insisted that he hasn’t decided where he wants to play next season.
Globo now claim Fulham are aware of Pereira’s desire to leave this summer.
