According to a claim in the Turkish media, Galatasaray are targeting Leicester City defender Caglar Soyuncu.
The Turkey international only signed for the Foxes in the last transfer window from Freiburg but the player has struggled to get games since arriving in England.
Milliyet today report Galatasaray are looking to bolster their squad and are planning a ‘giant operation’ to bring Soyuncu back to the Super Lig, along with Celta Vigo attacker Emre Mor.
The Turkish champions currently top the league table, but they still want to bring in reinforcements as they fight on all fronts this season, including the Champions League.
However, funding a deal for the Leicester City player could prove to be an issue for the Istanbul club due to FFP implications. Galatasaray risk further sanctions from UEFA if they don’t comply in this financial year after being hit with a fine in the summer.
Soyuncu has yet to make his competitive debut for Leicester City but has been used in Premier League 2 games. Turkish clubs and their associated media are often overly optimistic about the chances of signing players on loan or permanently, and this could be another example of that.
