Admitting on Thursday that Paris Saint-Germain were still looking for a new forward, Christophe Galtier was careful not to name anyone.
However, L’Equipe appear to have done that for him, as they explain the Ligue 1 side are targeting Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.
Having missed out on Robert Lewandowski, the club have now ‘fallen back on a very precise profile’, with that being the Red Devils star.
In fact, talks have already started with his entourage, and they are ‘moving positively’, as the player was ‘already being followed by the previous regime’ at the club, making matters a bit easier.
With his current contract keeping him at Old Trafford until 2023, the player is said to be in a ‘favourable’ position for Paris Saint-Germain, who can give him the ‘opportunity to throw himself in a new challenge as Manchester United won’t be playing in the Champions League this year’.
L’Equipe, though, do warn that there is still an important detail to find out, and that is the ‘conditions at which the Manchester board will open the door’, taking into account the player’s very close affinity to the club.
Basically, Paris Saint-Germain need to find out if a move for the Manchester United player is ‘doable’ financially, which could certainly be an issue if Erik ten Hag and those above start putting up a wall around Rashford.
