Recently there were some unconvincing reports from Turkish media outlets about Mamadou Sakho signing for Besiktas, but it was looking very unlikely as Jurgen Klopp is short of defensive options.
However, this week the German boss has made Sakho available on loan which has caused debate among Liverpool fans.
Sent home by Klopp from the USA, it’s very clear Jurgen Klopp wants Sakho to prove himself again but not at Liverpool. Subsequently there are clubs interested in the Liverpool star, including Crystal Palace, Stoke City and now Besiktas
Besiktas president Fikret Orman likes to do business with British clubs and during his 5-year tenure Besiktas he’s signed Oguzhan Ozyakup, Demba Ba, Alain McGregor and most notably Samir Nasri. They are now hoping to land Sakho as the Turkish club have been keen to bring in a left sided central defender since the beginning of the transfer window to partner Luiz Rhodolfo.
Besiktas previously targeted Domagoj Vida, Carles Gil, Bruno Martins Indi and Lamine Kone, but these defenders weren’t available.
CNN Turk reports, Besiktas coach Senol Gunes thinks signing Sakho will be an incredible bit of business by the club after he informed Orman that he has everything you want from a central defender.
The Black Eagles have been drawn at Champions League Group B alongside Benfica, Napoli and Dynamo Kiev.
