Following months of rumours, it seems Manchester City are finally about to have a partner club in Brazil.
Journalist Jorge Nicola has shared a video saying everything is ‘absolutely adjusted’ for the City Group to complete their purchase of Bahia, as a ‘200-page document’ was signed by both parties.
According to his report, the public announcement will be made ‘in the coming hours’, or, at most, ‘before the end of this week’. That’s when the offer from Manchester City owners will be officially delivered to the Brazilian club’s board.
The purchase, however, still needs to be approved by a vote from the council board and the fans before being completed. Nicola says the first vote is being scheduled for the 30th of September.
Bahia are expected to have an important part in the City Group. It’s said the owners believe Brazil is the biggest talent producer in the world and that will work as a way to distribute players between Manchester City and the other partner clubs.
Also, according to Aratu On, Ferran Soriano is arriving in Brazil on Thursday to complete the process. Other officials from the group have already been spotted in Salvador this week.
