Liverpool’s recent struggles have received plenty of coverage in the UK media, and similar is happening around Europe.

There’s been some surprise that the Reds have faltered so much this season, regardless of the defensive injuries they’ve had to deal with.

Spanish newspaper Sport is one of the publications which has been shocked by the situation. On Sunday they have a match report on Liverpool’s loss to Leicester City, which wouldn’t normally be something they’d pay so much attention to.

Sport’s headline explains Liverpool continue their ‘free-fall’, and the article goes on to claim they were ‘thrashed’ again, this time by Brendan Rodgers’ side.

The Premier League champions’ defence is described as a ‘shipwreck’. Alisson coming together with Ozan Kabak, which allowed Jamie Vardy to score, is presented as something from a ‘circus’ and Sport believe that even Liverpool’s attack isn’t what it once was.

This is all a big change from the endless praise the Reds rightly received from around Europe last season.
