Two days ago, Foot Mercato reported Lille and AS Monaco have the ‘most intense interest’ in Folarin Balogun, who is on loan at Stade de Reims from Arsenal.

On Tuesday, Calciomercato.it stated the Gunners could sell the striker if they end up signing Lille’s Jonathan David in the summer.

The Arsenal owned player has scored 19 goals and registered three assists from 31 games this season for the Ligue 1 side. His form has seen him also draw attention from RB Leipzig, according to Sky Deutschland.

It’s said the Bundesliga side have their eyes set on the 21-year-old to replace Christopher Nkunku. Balogun ‘fits perfectly’ into the profile desired by Leipzig managing director Max Eberl and their sporting director, Rouven Schröder.

Leipzig won’t find it easy to sign the England U21 international because of competition from other clubs. In addition to this, Mikel Arteta could decide to include him in his plans at Arsenal next season.

Sky explain Leipzig or another club would have to invest ‘at least €40m’ to take Balogun away from Arsenal.

These factors may hold the German club back from making an approach for the frontman in the summer.
