Tyler Adams’ World Cup campaign came to an end following the USMNT’s 3-1 defeat to the Netherlands in the round of 16.
The Leeds United midfielder played the full 90 minutes in all four matches for his country in Qatar.
Having arrived at Elland Road from RB Leipzig in the summer, he has been a regular for Leeds this season. The 23-year-old’s form for the Whites and the national team has alerted a few clubs and among them is Fiorentina.
That’s according to Firenzeviola.it, who state the Serie A side’s technical director, Nicolás Burdisso, made a trip to Qatar. Beyond watching a few of his club’s players, the chief had at least two unscheduled trips that must ‘arouse the attention’ of Fiorentina fans.
Burdisso attended the clash between the USA and Iran, where the Leeds player was in action.
The outlet states it is difficult to stress whether the chief was there for market reasons or ‘mere footballing interest’. They do point out there are not many players from the two nations that Italian side could look at due to their current squad and perhaps the cost.
In the past, Fiorentina looked at Adams’ compatriot, Yunus Musah, while Firenzeviola.it now suggest the Leeds star would have been monitored by Burdisso.
If Fiorentina have Adams on their transfer agenda, they will join Inter Milan in keeping tabs on Marsch’s man. The Nerazzurri chief, Piero Ausilio, watched him in action for his country at the World Cup.
