Following initial reports from Brazil saying Chelsea are about to close a deal for Santos winger Angelo, we already get some updates from journalist Venê Casagrande.
The reporter had already said the transfer was close to being done for £15m, and he now claims the Blues take the move as ‘certain’.
Chelsea are said to be paying Santos the full amount up front, and will take him in this summer window.
Casagrande points out that back at the start of the year, Angelo agreed to work with Giuliano Bertolucci. The agent, who was involved in several deals with the Blues in the past, told him he’d soon get a move to Europe.
That’s one of the reasons the winger turned down an offer from Flamengo and ‘trusted’ the representative. Now sold to Chelsea, it’s said the youngster is ‘realising his dream’.
Angelo had ups and downs for Santos lately, but with the club living such a difficult moment, it was hard to imagine him developing well there. Now we should see whether Chelsea will use him or send him on loan somewhere else.
It’s worth pointing out that even though Casagrande claimed the Blues’ offer was already delivered, UOL claims that hasn’t happened yet, with the discussed figure being €15m, despite confirming the negotiations.
Over at Globe Esporte, however, they are on team Casagrande, and back up the £15m claim.
