On Thursday, Mais Futebol stated Chelsea are preparing to move forward to sign Sporting star Manuel Ugarte.
The Blues will have to battle it out with Paris Saint-Germain, who are willing to trigger his €60m clause.
Friday’s Record states PSG have sent an official offer of €60m for the midfielder and Chelsea ‘will match’ their proposal.
The Paris club will have to anticipate competition from the Premier League side. It’s stated the latter have informed the 22-year-old’s representatives they will table an offer with the Lions.
Following PSG’s offer, it’s claimed the ‘second official offer’, from Chelsea, should ‘arrive in the short term’. With this, the west London club will not only match PSG’s bid but it could also start an auction for the Uruguay international when it comes to personal terms.
Both PSG and Chelsea are moving forward with a €60m offer, which is the figure mentioned in his release clause.
Although the option to join the Ligue 1 side excites the South American, he hasn’t ruled out other offers. In fact, he even puts a move to the Premier League ‘at the top of his preferences’.
At the moment, neither Chelsea nor PSG have started talks with Ugarate over personal terms. The salary conditions could be decisive, considering the Premier League would be a better option sporting wise.
After Chelsea match PSG’s offer, which they intend to do soon, Ugarate will have to make a decision on which club to join next.
