After the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus, Gonzalo Higuain’s future now lies away from the Allianz Stadium, if the reports in Italy are to be believed.

According to Sky Italia, the Argentine international has emerged as a transfer target for Chelsea and AC Milan. Football agent Fali Ramadani is representing the Blues in Italy and the west London club ‘strongly’ want the striker.

The former Real Madrid star played under Maurizio Sarri in the 2015/16 season, when the two were at Napoli. There is a possibility of a reunion between the player and his former manager at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea’s negotiation for Higuain ‘is underway’ and the report claims it could ‘intensify in the next few hours’.

Any approach from the FA Cup winners to sign the Turin club’s frontman will see them face competition from Milan because Gennaro Gattuso’s side have had regular contact with the Juventus attacker’s entourage.

It remains to be seen how the saga surrounding Higuain’s future is going to end as Chelsea and Milan are both interested in signing him.
