Earlier on Tuesday, we saw Chelsea being labelled as the strongest contenders to sign Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina.
Reports from Spain ruled out the likes of Atletico Madrid and Barcelona from the race, and claimed the Blues were also ahead of Manchester United for this transfer.
But Edu Aguirre, who first reported Chelsea’s effort to sign the midfielder, is now back to say that move will not happen.
The journalist is back to El Chiringuito to say that Amrabat is going nowhere in the January transfer window, as Fiorentina turned down all the offers they had for the 26-year-old.
Among those bids, it’s said La Viola rejected ‘especially the one from Chelsea’, even though there are no details on how much the Blues put on the table for the signing.
Amrabat is one of the midfielders Chelsea have been following, given the departure of Jorginho to Arsenal.
The Blues are also having a hard time trying to sign Enzo Fernandez from Benfica, and that promises to be a saga which will last until the final minutes of the transfer window.
