After revealing on Wednesday that talks were ongoing between Anderlecht and Chelsea for the loan of Charly Musonda Jr., DH in Belgium have an update on the situation.
It’s not necessarily good news, since the main point is said talks have ‘slowed down’, but all hope is not lost for both the Blues and the Jupiler Pro League side.
The reason for the handbrake being applied is Chelsea’s request of money for the temporary deal, having managed to extract €1m from Celtic last year for sending the young Belgian starlet to Scotland.
Anderlecht aren’t prepared to spend that much, especially not in an area they aren’t all that keen to bolster, but should the Stamford Bridge residents’ demands go down, something could get done.
We could end up waiting until the very end of the month for this one to happen, since Chelsea won’t want to have Musonda hanging around the club doing nothing, meaning they could ship him off at the last minute for a smaller amount.
That’s what Anderlecht are hoping for, at least.
