Chelsea have now joined the list of suitors for Sevilla defender Loïc Badé and are ‘willing to bet heavily’ on the Frenchman this summer.

That’s according to Fichajes, who report that after the failed move to Aston Villa in January, it is now Chelsea who want to take Badé to the Premier League.

They explain that Badé is one of the big sales that Sevilla wants to close in the summer to help their beleaguered finances.

Chelsea are determined to strengthen their defence and have set their sights on the Frenchman are one of the main options to do so.

They are reportedly preparing a €30m offer to convince Sevilla to part with him, although they are not the only Premier League side in the mix. Aston Villa tried hard to get him in January before Badé eventually turned down the move.

The situation could change in the summer as Sevilla remain willing to negotiate a deal if the financial offer is attractive enough.

Chelsea want immediate solutions to bolster their defence and are monitoring several options, including Jules Koundé and Marc Guéhi, but they would both be more expensive than Badé.

Now, given the source we’ll take this with a pinch of salt for now, with-it well-established Chelsea want a defender and Sevilla’s perilous finances also well know.

Both of those things make this link a fairly easy one to make but Badé certainly will be a name to keep an eye on in the coming months regardless of that.
